“Thanksgiving puts steel into our patriotic veins. It reminds us or our great heritage. It carries us back with numbing nostalgia to that first dreadful winter at Plymouth where less than half the handful of people survived. It speaks in alter crisp tones of forgotten terms like: integrity…bravery…respect…faith…vigilance…dignity…honor…freedom…develop…sacrifice…godliness.” You have a great day too Raven- you and your family and friends. Next year C and I will be there. Is the heat working at the dwell? I am assuming you all have the fireplaces lit and ovens as well and will be (if you haven’t already) cooked those turkeys in them. How many people are there this year? It would be great if everyone could put aside their differences unpatriotic attitudes and beliefs etc for just one day. How tragic it is for those who view the world through pessimism and darkness. Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude. A time to praise God for what we undergo not what we don’t have. The United States is the most incredible nation in the history of mankind. Instead of focusing on what this country does wrong. I think it is about time for some to recognize what we do right. The good far outdistances the bad. It is days like this when I long for leaders like Ronald Reagen. No matter how one felt about his politics. Reagen reflected optimism. If there is any complaint against George Bush it is that he doesn’t communicate that sense of positiveness. However one can see it in his actions and deeds. (If one cared to look closely enough) I may be in the minority but I truly esteem and respect our president. Again it is tragic for those who wish to create a bleak picture of gloom and doom for those who wish to engage in hatred and deception in times of prosperity. They are missing out on so much joy. “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. Is the emergence of life a localised one-shot fluke or does it happen all over the place? It’s not a question we can answer with certainty yet but that’s probably why it’s such a fascinating thing to ponder. Scientists in the latter camp suggest that life may have arisen here on Earth more than once and - which might add evidence in favour of the emergence of extra-terrestrial life. Of course some of the creatures that have existed on Earth that were based on the familiar biological patterns can still seem pretty alien if only in the B-movie/pulp magazine manner - anyone? A couple of interesting points from the article: (1) “…it was a bacterium with the surprising ability to chemically alter the amino acids and sugars of the wrong handedness so as to make them digestible.” This strongly suggests that the bacterium regularly encounters molecules of the wrong-handedness but all known life produces molecules of the correct handedness. If there were a lot of the “wrong” molecules hanging around out there then these conversion enzymes would be very common in bacteria. So where are the wrong molecules coming from? (2) “The Murchison meteorite a cometary remnant that fell in Australia in 1969 contained many common amino acids but also some unusual ones such as isovaline and pseudoleucine. (Scientists are not sure how the amino acids formed in the meteorite but most researchers believe that the chemicals were not produced by biological activity.)” Complex organic compounds travel through space on rocks and crash onto planets. sight these items are all from LLBEAN. We own several chamois shirts and flannel shirts from Bean. I used to purchase my shirts from Lands End but once I discovered Bean (which has been around much longer) I immediately noted the much better quality; and now years later the quality of lasting power as well. We won’t buy from anyone else now thanks to you. “…The first snowfall of the pass! What a joy to behold…!” Love that old banish Jones Christmas song from the 50’s!

Interestingly her description of the redesign actually admits that the giant crescent IS comfort present both geometrically and thematically. In 2005 architect Paul Murdoch explained his original Crescent of Embrace design in terms of the flight path: as the hijacked airliner came over the ridgeline above the crash site its flight path symbolically turning it into a giant crescent. In the original design the broken off part of the circle was removed entirely: Flight 93 came down from the Northwest (the upper left). The flight path breaks the circle at the upper crescent tip says Paul Murdoch then continues down to the crash site which is located between the crescent tips (roughly in the lay of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag). In describing the barely altered redesign. Superintendent Hanley uses the exact same “breaking the circle” language that Paul Murdoch used to describe the original design only now the broken off part of the circle is not completely removed. A broken chunk of it remains so that the design now includes “two breaks” instead of one: The most prominent refinement was in the treatment of the naturally occurring bowl-shaped adorn feature. The design now surrounds that area with a circle of trees which is broken in two places - the location which marks the pip path as it breaks the circular continuity of the bowl edge and the Sacred Ground where the crash occurred. The locations of the two breaks in the circle are based on the pip path and crash site of Flight 93.
